Whenever I see Ryan sketching it makes me want to sketch. Then I remember I have this blog I never post to and a tablet I need to practice drawing on. I'm still mostly a mouse user but I know many people in the post industry use tablets with their interfaces.

I wouldn't mind being able to draw with a tablet more solidly, and learning the paint tools in photo shop better as well. So I suppose that means I should make this a more often thing. *sigh* Ok, lets get to work then.

So I drew this one a little while back, and scanned it for color. The color isn't done yet but I figured I post the sketch now, and the color when I had a chance.

A touch of Color

So Here I've actually added some color to something. I like sketchy lines, but in this one a lot of the little details were very muddled up by the super loose lines and they made the color dark so I had to erase most of them. Hopefully with it in color you can get a better idea for the dress. The four colors are all satin ribbon, the center chest being woven ribbon to make it's fabric. The skirt actually goes all the way around but I was lazy and didn't do the color for the back. Likely, this would be nice in just red and white or something of the like as well, but I wanted all four colors to represent the elements of Pagan traditions, and the brightness of Spring and the Beltine celebration.

Woo, a little wordy there. Working on this design, I really want to make this dress and maybe play with the accesories, or try and work some purple in. Also, it makes me look forward to spring. Maybe I should have a little Beltine party... ^.^

Playing Catch Up!

Wow So I haven't posted in a good while. I'm rather disapointed in myself for that, but I was crazy busy. Honestly, there's no excuse - So here are some drawings!

Some silly sketches of Ryan and myself from Valentines day. I can't draw guys at all >.<

I drew this a while back for an Illistration Friday, the theme was Night. I wanted to color it and didn't have a chance.

A EGL (a type of Japanese gothic fashion) dress design for challenge. The theme was holidays and I chose Beltine. "Pretty as a May Pole" I'll be coloring this shortly.

And lasty for the moment, also to be colored, A character for a game I play. I just wanted to remake my avatar.

Here's to hopefully more posts in the future. Sorry I've been so completely lame!

Illistration Friday - Broken

So after looking through Alina Chou's blog I desided to check out the Illistration Friday thing she participates in. This week's theme was Broken.

Imagine someone saying something that sorta derails all trains of thought, or causes sudden shock. It could be anything really. Soon enough, our coffee gets cold and we haven't even noticed.

(I'm trying to get a scanner, really! And I'll start doing cleaner and colored drawings, promise ^.^;;)

I'm trying to post at least once a week. I actually already posted this on my LJ but its a recent drawing, and I did change the arms a little so they were a little more dynamic. This is the Character design I went with for the girl I'm working on in Computer Studio. I'll post an image of the model if it turns out well ^.^;

I figured since I posted that last one earlier I'd add this to this week. I actually drew this maybe a year ago or so but never got to scanning it. I think it came out alright. ^.^

I'm hopefully going to do some color work tonight. If it comes out, I'll put it up. ^.^

One of the matinence guys came by today to fix my hot water. Instead, he broke a pipe. There wasn't too much mess, just a lot of water. Too bad he wasn't a cute girl instead.

I tried to make her more of a sexy girl. I think I got it maybe half way there. I'll try to get a scanner soon...

Oh and so you know, actually kneeling in that position hurts after about 2 seconds.

A step in... a direction?

I spend a fair amount of time staring at the journals of people I know and admire so I figured it'd be good to start one of my own. It might encourage me to draw more often, I know seeing my friends' work certainly does, time permiting.

I'll start it off with a sketch that was the direct result of being energized by these very people:
